Kagehito Unleashed is the ninth episode of the Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles tv series.

Summary[]

Inside the Kaikishi Temple, Tetsujin is blessed with power from the Ki-stone to prevent fights Kagehito to attach the Clavis to the stone.

Meanwhile, Usagi along with Spot ride back to Neo Edo on his steamcycle while pulling off some tricks. Close by to their destination; they see that Neo Edo's power is shutting down and immediately speed up to reach there. Within the city, Gen's group, now accompanied by Yuichi's Aunt and Hana, drive the Ashibasha through Neo Edo and see the toll that the unpowered Ki-stone has taken on the town. Elsewhere, Lord Kogane prepares himself for his "Panic Room" instead of tending to the needs of his people. Back to Gen's group, Gen and his sister Toshiko recuse a citizen stuck in a car being crushed by a boat. Chizu surmises that the Ki-Stone has lost its power, and they must return to the temple at once. Unbeknownst to the group, Lady Fuwa had her eye on the group and vowed revenge against Chizu's betrayal.

En route to the Kaikishi Temple, Usagi is ambushed by Admiral Nochi and his Bat Squadron. Although he has some light from the full moon, it becomes obscured by the night clouds. From a maintenance hole, Chikabuma helps Usagi by being his eyes, and once the squadron is dealt with, Usagi rides off. Still, Chikabuma tries to warn him about Kagehito and seemingly fails.

Finally reaching the Kaikishi Temple, Gen's group is ambushed by Lady Fuwa and her gang of Ninjas. Yuichi's Aunt then steps forth and faces off against Lady Fuwa, while her ninjas deal with Gen's group. Although they're outclassed and maneuvered, Usagi arrives and deals with all of the ninjas there. However, Lady Fuwa drops some smoke bombs and flees into the temple, so Usagi, Gen, Chizu, and Kitsune pursue her. Within the temple, Lady Fuwa is left astounded by the fight between Tetsujin and Kagemaru and decides to flee. When Kagemaru was knocked outside of the temple, Usagi and the group decided to fight against him to protect the Ki-stone.

Meanwhile, Lord Kogane doing some arts and crafts inside his Panic Room, is notified about the battle that started from the temple, but doesn't care about it whatsoever. The battle continues against Kagemaru, and despite Usagi managing to ensnare Kagehito with his yo-yo, the Yokai manages to break it and free himself from its ensnarement. Despite being distraught about losing his Kaikishi yo-yo, Usagi and the group return to the temple to try and stop Kagehito, but he still manages to attach the Clavis to the Ki-stone.

A giant beam of light shoots up into the air and creates a big purple butterfly in the sky. Supposedly free from someone or thing's control, Kagehito warns the group that ones known as the Makkine shall come into their world and either conquer or destroy it. All with the help of the giant beast under their control.
