Go is the eighth episode of the Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles tv series.
Summary[]
Rummaging through the pile of rocks that the Clavis is underneath, Kagehito reiterates that when the Clavis is activated, the Mogura gang will be the best gang. Although Chikabuma acts happy about this, he flees the scene, leaving behind his gang in a hurry.
Outside of his mansion, Gen and Toshiko tune up the Ashibasha while Chizu and Kitsune standby and watch. Immediately, the Ashibashi drives itself away, and Chikabuma appears from a manhole to warn them about Kagehito. Unbeknownst to them, a large skeletal finger was eavesdropping on their conversation. Upon learning about Kagehito's plans from Chikabuma, Gen and the others head to the Kaikishi Temple.
At the Kaikishi Temple, Tetsujin is introduced by Usagi to Kana and Hana. Usagi also explains that he doesn't wish to capture Giman despite Karasu-Tengu requesting that he does. The Ki-stone starts to flicker and ask that Usagi connect to it again, and elatedly, Usagi does and witnesses another flashback involving his ancestor Miyamoto Usagi confronting the Shogun. The flashback depicts Miyamoto seemingly slaying the Shogun and piercing the Ki-Stone. To this revelation, Usagi decides to give up his dream of becoming a samurai and seeks to return to his Auntie's farm with Kana and Hana. However, Tetsujin tries to stop him, claiming that the Ki-stone still has more to show him. However, it didn't matter to Usagi, who wanted nothing more of it.
Usagi rides on a steamcycle while Hana follows while riding on Kana, who was transformed into a steamcycle, heads to his aunt's farm. Once Gen and his group reach the Kaikishi Temple, they're told by Testujin that Usagi, Kana, and Hana have already left to return to his Auntie's farm. So, Gen's group decides to follow suit and hopes they can ride the Ashibasha there. The finger eavesdropping on them from earlier, returns to its Yokai host and reports its findings. He was upset and agitated that although Usagi had left Neo Edo, his friends sought to have him return there. This complicates the Yokai's plans as he wanted Usagi out of the picture so he'd have no fear of roaming the city without any trouble.
Arriving at his aunt's farm, Kana transforms into a stone regarding Usagi's Auntie to avoid her panicking over the appearance of a Yokai. Once that is done, Usagi's Auntie appears, and Hana is introduced to her. When Hana is tasked with checking out the farm, Usagi admits to his Auntie that he wants to return to his life on the farm. However, his Auntie tries to dissuade him from doing that as he's always wanted to be a samurai. Hana returns to the two now with a rock shaped like a foot and walks off with Usagi's Auntie back to their house. Left alone with Spot, Usagi asks him for advice, and Kana reminds him that she's there too and transforms back. Although Usagi is still depressed and unmotivated to continue his dream of becoming a samurai, he's remotivated after Kana reveals herself to be Karasu-Tengu. She claims that Usagi has proven himself worthy of being her student and accepts to be his sensei as there's an ominous prescience in the mist. Karasu-Tengu then takes Usagi, Spot, and his steamcycle to a more suitable location for his training.
En route to Usagi's Aunt's farm, Gen's group continues forward to their destination as they're tailed by the Yokai who was spying on them. Switching over to Usagi and Karasu-Tengu, they land at their destination, the mystic mountain. It's there that their training session begins, and Usagi starts by trying to slice a single grain of rice with his sword in mid-air. Despite failing to do this on his first try, Karasu-Tengu informs Usagi that time flows differently there and that he'll have plenty of attempts to accomplish this. Karasu-Tengu then teaches Usagi about how the sword can predict the future, and he can learn the future from it by silencing his mind. The two then meditate for an unknown amount of time and then have a sparring match where Karasu-Tengu wins. This continues until Usagi can cut the piece of rice in mid-air. Although Usagi believes that his training is over, Karasu-Tengu corrects him that life itself is training and only ends at death. She then advises Usagi to return to Neo-Edo to face off against the ominous presence there, while she finds his friends and will then send them to him. Grabbing Usagi's steamcycle, Karasu-Tengu lifts it and puts Usagi and Spot back on the main road, where they ride off back to Neo Edo.
Meanwhile, Gen's group reaches Usagi's Aunt's farm, and Hana greets them and introduces them to Usagi's Aunt. The Yokai that was spying and tailing them then appears before them and reveals himself as O-Dokuro. Gen's group, along with Usagi's Aunt, then fights against O-Dokuro, only for Karasu-Tengu to arrive and fight against the Yokai herself, allowing Gen's group to escape. Elsewhere, Kagehito finally gets the Clavis and heads to the Kaikishi Temple, where he confronts Tetsujin.
